AICE Media Studies

 For our group blog, I’m working with Nathaniel and David, two classmates from my media studies class. We’re collaborating on this project because we all share a strong interest in media and have complementary skills that will make our final task successful. Nathaniel is great with video editing, and David has a keen eye for design and visuals, while I’ve been focused on research and content creation. Together, we bring different strengths to the table, which makes us a strong team. We’re all in the same media studies class, so we’ve already built a good rapport and understanding of each other’s work habits. Also schedules. We decided to work together because we live fairly close to one another, which makes it easy to meet up outside of school. Having this proximity means we can collaborate more effectively, brainstorming ideas and refining our project in person.  Hi, my name is Jake Delnegri, and I’m thrilled to be reaching the final task in media studies A level. Over the past weeks and year of AS level, I’ve had the chance to explore a wide variety of media concepts, from the impact of digital platforms to analyzing different forms of storytelling. My journey through this course has been incredibly enlightening, and I’ve learned so much about the ways media shapes our world. The more I’ve studied, the more I’ve realized how important it is to critically engage with the content we consume. I’ve always had an interest in media, whether it’s through film, television, social media, or other digital forms. This class has given me the tools to understand not only how media works but also how to create and analyze it.   Our media studies project was an exhilarating journey from start to finish as we embarked on the creation of a gripping 2-minute short video set in a high-stakes military scenario, revolving around a daring mission to capture a prominent world leader. From brainstorming ideas to scripting intense dialogues, every step of the production process was filled with excitement and creativity. Filming day was an absolute blast as we transformed into a dynamic military team ready to execute our mission with precision, and the attention to detail in creating military-themed props added an immersive touch to our project, making every scene come to life. As the cameras rolled, we embraced our roles with enthusiasm, channeling the intensity and determination of our characters, while capturing the essence of the military setting was both challenging and rewarding, requiring meticulous planning and coordination.   Welcome back to the blog. Today our further revision will be taken into place. We have decided to take our film and take a day of revision or "emend". We have plenty of footage to look over so it was unexpectedly exciting. We gathered every clip from our cameras and edited lighting, frames, and put everything on the same scale. We ditched bad videos or bad acting videos. As we took at least hundreds of clips so we would not have re-runs. Alek used capcut and I fed him the good clips. Our teamwork made it quicker and helpful. We narrowed our footage down and only saved edited film. Of course meaning good lighting and etc. We even brought our actors in for there approval on clips. After coming together we decided what to keep and such. Making almost a complete project our production has been significant. We want to perfect props for ongoing scenes and make sure the cameras are perfect. This will shorten edit time. I hope we can continue this movement and flawlessness so far. ...
