Production blog
As we moved into post-production, one of the most crucial elements we needed to focus on was the sound and music. Racing films are defined by their intense soundscapes, so getting the sound just right was a top priority. Nathaniel and David spent hours in the sound studio, carefully layering engine roars, tire screeches, and the rush of wind to make the racing scenes as immersive as possible. We wanted the sound to bring the audience into the world of street racing, so we made sure every detail was captured. The sound design wasn’t limited to just the racing moments; we also paid close attention to the quieter scenes. For instance, when the main character has heart-to-heart conversations with his friends, we used softer, more intimate sounds to reflect the emotional tone of the scene. Music played a big role in setting the mood as well. We collaborated with a local musician to create a soundtrack that would complement the intensity of the races while also highlighting the emotional journey of the main character. The music needed to be fast-paced during the action scenes but also subtle and reflective during quieter moments. As we synced the music with the footage, we could feel the energy of the film shifting. It was exciting to see how the combination of sound effects and music brought the story to life in ways that visuals alone couldn’t. By the time we finished, the film felt more polished, and the sound had elevated the entire experience. The sound and music turned out to be just as important as the visuals, bringing a new layer of depth to our film.
