Casting the right actors was one of the most important steps in our film's development. We needed someone who could portray a teenager with big dreams, determination, and the grit to handle street racing’s challenges. Nathaniel stood out during auditions, bringing the perfect energy and authenticity to the character. After locking in the lead, we turned our attention to the supporting roles. We had to find actors who could bring the rival racers, friends, and family members to life. David suggested keeping the cast smaller to maintain focus on the main character’s journey, which we agreed with. For the role of the rival racer, we cast Alex, who exuded confidence and intensity. We decided to cast a few of our friends in family roles to make the film feel more personal and realistic. With the cast chosen, we met with the actors to discuss their characters and dive into their motivations. We made sure they understood the deeper themes of the film beyond just the racing aspect. Some actors were initially unsure about the street racing world, but we reassured them that the story was about ambition, growth, and challenges. The excitement among the cast was palpable as they began to visualize their characters in the world we’d created. We also needed a professional driver for some of the stunt scenes, which added another layer of preparation. Nathaniel coordinated with the actors to rehearse their lines and actions, making sure everyone was prepared. The cast’s chemistry quickly became evident, and it was clear that they were invested in making the story come alive. We felt ready for the next step, knowing the actors were as passionate about the film as we were.
